Race week is eight weeks out. The marina is filling, but it is not full. Here is what is still open, how to choose quickly, and what to do this week.Â
When you book a race-week berth, your paper confirmation turns into your real spot on the water. Once locked in, that view beside the track is yours for the full weekend. For 2026, spaces are still open, but fewer remain each week. Â
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix runs December 4–6, 2026. General admission tickets stay available late, but trackside yacht spots at Yas Marina sell out quickly. That is because the venue has a strict limit on moorings, with each one placed directly along the circuit. If you want to be on the water this December, now is the time to choose your yacht.Â
What Is Still Available for 2026
The 2026 race-week fleet currently runs to around thirty yachts, with weekend rates starting from about €23,000 and increasing for larger vessels. Each charter includes an individually numbered trackside berth, held for the yacht throughout race weekend. The best-positioned berths are typically secured eight to twelve months ahead, while yacht availability, berth positions and pricing can change as race week approaches. Confirm current yacht and berth details before booking.Â
As December gets closer, the choice gets smaller. Yachts are booked; prime berths are taken, and fewer options remain. Ask for current availability now and you can still compare a real range of yachts and berths. Wait until race week, and you are choosing what is left.
Choosing Your Yacht Quickly
With race week this close, the useful question is not which boat is best. It is which boat fits the group. Broadly, the fleet splits three ways: smaller yachts for intimate private groups, mid-size to large yachts for corporate hosting, and a handful of the largest vessels for full-scale events.
That is a sample of what is currently available rather than the full list. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix fleet page has every yacht with length, capacity, berth and race-weekend rate.
As a rough guide, private groups tend to suit the smaller, more intimate yachts, while entertaining clients calls for larger boats with real hosting space. Corporate race weekend hosting needs the capacity to match: Thunder (80 ft, up to 125 guests), Poseidon, Onda, 110 Gulf and Lucien all carry 100 guests or more.
What Each Day Looks Like on Board
What Slows a Booking Down
Four things can take longer than expected. With eight weeks left, it is worth starting them at the same time.

Yas Marina Berth Position
The berth matters as much as the yacht. Trackside berths are individually numbered, and their positions around the circuit are different. Once a berth is taken for race weekend, it is no longer available. There are still other yachts and berths to choose from, but the choice gets smaller as bookings come in.
Yacht Size and Guest Capacity
A charter for 20 guests is a very different search from a corporate booking for 100 or more. Popular yacht sizes can be booked quickly, while the largest vessels are limited from the start
Corporate Approvals
Corporate bookings often need budget approval, a confirmed guest list and internal sign-off before the booking can be made. Start this process early. Otherwise, you can find the right yacht and then lose it while waiting for approval.
Guest Accreditation
Each yacht has a set number of marina passes, and the guest list must be submitted for accreditation before race weekend. Finalizing the names early avoids last-minute changes and unnecessary stress.
What Happens If You Wait
Waiting does not necessarily mean missing out, but it does mean fewer yacht choices, fewer preferred berths, less flexibility on capacity, and less time for accreditation and planning to happen properly rather than at the last minute.
The later you book, the more you choose from what remains rather than choosing exactly what you want.
Planning for 2027
If this December is too soon, plan next year early. For the widest choice of yacht and berth, eight to twelve months ahead is the right window, which means starting the conversation around the end of this year and no later than spring 2027. Everything above, from berth position and group size to approvals and accreditation, works in your favor when you start that far out.
Before You Enquire
A few details make the process faster on both sides: number of guests, a rough sense of yacht size, budget range, whether it is corporate or private, and any catering or hospitality requirements worth flagging early.
A Few Quick Questions
When should I book a yacht for the Abu Dhabi GP 2026?
Now. Race week is under two months away, and the choice narrows each week, though yachts and berths are still available. For future years, eight to twelve months ahead gives the widest choice.
Can I book a yacht for race day only?
Charters are full race-weekend packages, Friday 4 to Sunday 6 December.
